Invoice Generator FAQ

What should an invoice include?

At minimum: your business name and contact details, the client's details, a unique invoice number, the issue date, a description of the goods or services, amounts, any tax, the total due and the payment terms. Some countries require extra details, such as a tax registration number.

Is my information stored on your servers?

No. The invoice is built in your browser and the draft is saved only in this browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Can I add my tax or VAT number?

Yes. Include it in the “From” details, where it will appear under your business name.

How do I number my invoices?

Use a sequence that never repeats, such as INV-2026-001, INV-2026-002. The tool suggests the next number based on your last saved invoice.

Is this a legal or tax document?

It produces a standard invoice, but legal requirements vary by country. Check the rules for your jurisdiction, especially for tax invoices.

Getting paid on time

An invoice is both a request for payment and a record for your accounts and your client's. Clear invoices get paid faster: a precise description of what was delivered, an unambiguous due date and complete payment details remove the questions that delay payment.

State your payment terms explicitly, for example “Due within 14 days”, and include the bank details or payment link the client should use. Numbering invoices sequentially and keeping a copy of each one makes bookkeeping and tax returns much simpler.
