Business Days Calculator
Deadlines, delivery times and notice periods are often counted in business days. Count the working days between two dates, or find the date that falls a given number of business days after (or before) a start date. Choose which days are your weekend and paste in your public holidays: the calculator skips them all.

Business Days Calculator FAQ
What counts as a business day?
Any day that is not a weekend day or a holiday in the list you provide. By default Saturday and Sunday are weekend days; you can change that.
Does the tool know public holidays?
No. Holidays differ by country, region and year, and some depend on the moon. Paste the official list for your location to get an exact count.
When adding business days, is the start date counted?
No. Counting starts on the next day, which is how “within 5 business days” is usually meant. The result is the fifth working day after the start.
What if a holiday falls on a weekend?
It is counted as a weekend day. If your country moves such holidays to a weekday, add the substitute date to the list.
Can I use a six-day working week?
Yes. Tick only one weekend day, for example Friday.
Is there a limit?
Up to 10,000 business days can be added, and ranges up to about 200 years can be counted.
Working days are local
A “business day” is not a universal unit. Most of Europe and the Americas work Monday to Friday; many countries in the Middle East and South Asia rest on Friday and Saturday; some sectors work six days. Public holidays add a second layer that differs between countries, regions and years.
That is why this calculator lets you define both. The weekend is a set of weekdays you tick. Holidays are a list of dates you paste from an official calendar, with names if you like, so the result explains which days were skipped. Nothing is assumed about your country.
Two conventions cause most disagreements. When counting days between dates, do the start and end dates count? When adding business days, does the clock start on the same day or the next? The calculator makes both explicit: you choose for counting, and adding always starts on the next day, which matches the usual meaning of “within N business days”.
Where deadlines have legal weight, such as court filings, statutory notice or payment terms, the governing rules define how days are counted and what happens when a deadline falls on a non-working day. Use the calculator to do the arithmetic, and check the rule for its definitions.
